District Staff
Stacey Heams serves as the Safety and Security Coordinator for the district, bringing extensive expertise gained from her background as a law enforcement officer, school resource officer, and her work in mental health. She spent seven years at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, where she gained invaluable experience in understanding and addressing mental health challenges.
In her role, Ms. Heams oversees the district’s comprehensive safety plans, emergency procedures, and training initiatives. She also fulfills School Resource Officer duties for Lowell Intermediate/Middle School and the district’s three elementary schools, including delivering educational presentations to both students and staff.
Ms. Heams believes that fostering community and peer support programs is essential to maintaining a safe school environment. By involving students and staff in identifying warning signs and providing early support, schools can proactively address concerns before they escalate. She is also available to address safety and security concerns with parents and community members upon request.

The Tri-Creek School Corporation is supported by one full-time uniformed police officer, Corporal Cory Burkus, who serves as the district's school resource officer (SRO). With 18 years of experience in the Lowell Police Department and 11 years specifically working within the schools, Corporal Burkus has been dedicated to the safety and security of the Tri-Creek School Corporation for over a decade. He is also a Northwest Regional SWAT team member, further enhancing his capabilities in handling high-risk situations. A graduate of the advanced School Resource Officer program, Corporal Burkus primarily serves Lowell High School but also conducts regular visits and assists the administration at Lowell Intermediate/Middle School and all three elementary schools. His extensive experience and specialized training make him an invaluable asset to the district, ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and the community.
