On March 2, our first-grade students got to participate in Discovery Kitchen! Chartwells, who also provides us with our breakfasts and lunches, has an educational component too! Discovery Kitchen is designed to make the experience of food in schools more than just in the cafeteria. It is designed to bring it into the classroom and children's daily lives. Mr. Joseph Peretin, Director of Dining Services, and Mr. Nate White, Executive Chef, taught our first-grade students about the process of plant to food. They were able to make tortillas from corn! What a wonderful learning opportunity!
